Web designers and developers create visual architecture for the web using code that is clean, maintainable, user-friendly and responsive to changing business needs and customer requirements. This course provides you with the technical knowledge to design and develop effective websites and web applications for online shopping, online auctions, employee kiosks, online catalogues or social networks. You'll learn about issues related to usability and accessibility, navigation, site structure and information architecture.

Structure
a) To qualify for a major in Web Design and Development complete 24 credit points from the major list below.
b) Wollongong campus only, To be awarded with a double major, please ensure that the subjects selected satisfy the requirements of each of the majors. UOW Coursework Rules allow a maximum of one subject to be cross counted toward more than one major study.
Wollongong campus only, A major in Web Design and Development can be combined with Network Design and Management or eBusiness.
Students should consult with the Academic Program Director directly to help in planning out their program of study.
