It includes managing technical processes: both within the firm between functions such as procurement, manufacturing and marketing; and between organisations such as manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers. You will gain an overall understanding of supply chain structures and develop an understanding of procurement and inventory management models, the role of enabling technologies within the supply chain, and performance measurements techniques.
During this major you will learn the principles and tools associated with quality management, and the relationships between e-commerce and supply chains. You’ll gain an understanding of total supply chain management and have the opportunity to specialise in a number of areas such as logistics, operations, systems thinking, quality and supply chain strategies.
