Course structure
To qualify for award of the degree of Bachelor of Information Technology (Dean's Scholar), complete 144 credit points and satisfy all course requirements for the degree outlined in the course structure below:
a) 96 credit points of core subject as listed below
b) 24 credit points from the major list below or if not undertaking a major, in addition to the core, complete 18 credit points of 300 level CSCI, CSIT or ISIT subjects, and an additional 6 credit point subject at 200/300 level CSCI, CSIT or ISIT.
c) and 6 credit points chosen from the Dean's Scholar Subjects list;
d) and Elective subjects to bring the total to 144 credit points chosen from the School of Computing and Information Technology, that is any CSIT, CSCI or ISIT subjects (not in the core or chosen major) or from the General Schedule.
e) and no more than 60 credit points at 100-level.
Please note that the Dean's Scholars Program is not offered to part time students and is only available to International Students who are eligible to apply through UAC (for new students), or who have completed one year of full time study at UOW (for current students). The program is not offered for double degrees and is not a scholarship.
Students should consult with the Academic Program Director directly to help in planning out their program of study.
To remain enrolled in the Bachelor of Information Technology (Dean's Scholar), students must maintain an average of 80% in each year of study. If the student's average falls below 80%, the situation will be assessed on an individual basis and the student may be transferred into the non-Dean's Scholar equivalent degree.
This program is available by transfer only to students who have completed 48 credit points of the equivalent non-scholars degree within one year duration and who have a minimum weighted average mark of 80.
