This program is available by transfer only following completion of one year duration at UOW in 48 credit points with a minimum weighted average mark of 80 of the equivalent non scholars degree.
Students need to maintain a weighted average mark of 80 throughout the program.

As an engineering student at UOW you may be eligible to gain credit for relevant work experience, either in Australia or overseas, by participating in our Professional Options Program. All students undertake practical hands-on experience with industry for 12 weeks prior to the conclusion of their academic studies. After completion of the first year subjects, you can transfer into your chosen discipline of engineering.

Course structure
To qualify for award of the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Hons)(Scholar) with a double major, complete 240 credit points and satisfy all course requirements outlined in the course structure.
a) 48 credit points of common core at 100 level specified below and
b) one double majors from the list below, including completion of Thesis B and
c) at least 12 weeks of approved professional experience, documented in the form of employment reports at any stage after completion of 1st year
d) and Elective subjects to bring the total to 240 credit points from Elective A and Elective B list as specified in the major or any approved minor from the General Schedule of Minors, General Schedule of Minors.
Some double major may require more than 192 credit point to complete, carefully review the requirements of the major before selection.
Students should consult with the Academic Program Directors directly to help in planning out their program of study.
Please note a part-time candidate in approved full-time engineering employment may be exempted from up to three specified subjects in accordance with the provisions of the Professional Options subjects, thereby enabling the joint course to be completed in a shorter time.
To remain enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Scholar) (Double Major), students must maintain an average of 80% in each year of study. If the student's average falls below 80%, the situation will be assessed on an individual basis and the student may be transferred into the non-Scholar equivalent degree.
This program is available by transfer only to students who have completed 48 credit points of the equivalent non-scholars degree within one year duration and who have a minimum weighted average mark of 80.
Honours Class III is not awarded for this course.
