Studying for an Honours degree will:
- Equip you with specialised research skills relevant to your chosen liberal arts discipline;
- Teach you cornerstone research methods for advanced study in the liberal arts;
- Give you the opportunity to work closely with, and learn from, an experienced academic supervisor;
- Support you in devising an extended argument on approved topic of study in a dissertation of approximately 15,000 words.

Course structure
To qualify for award of the Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation (Honours), a candidate must successfully complete at least 48 credit points as outlined below.
The Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation (Honours) consists of 50% coursework for 24 credit points and 50% independent research for 24 credit points. The research component of the degree takes the form of a dissertation of 15,000 words focused on an approved topic of your choice and completed under the supervision of an academic with relevant expertise employed in the School of Liberal Arts.
