Course structure

The Bachelor of Business requires the successful completion of 24 subjects (at 6 credit points each) for a total of 144 credit points ensuring that a minimum of 16 subjects (96 credit points) are from the Faculty of Business and Law subject offerings.
To qualify for the Bachelor of Business degree, students must:
1. Complete a First Year Foundation Stream: Choose one of the streams and complete 8 subjects (48 credit points).
2. Major selection:
a. With a Major: Complete 8 subjects listed within chosen major (48 credit points)
b. Without a Major: Complete a minimum of 8 Business and Law subjects (48 credit points).
3. Capstone requirement: Complete the BUS 331 Business Integrative Capstone subject (6 credit points) in your final year.
4. Additional credit points: To fulfill the required 144 credit points for the course, students must complete additional subjects. These can be chosen from the Faculty of Business and Law or other Faculties:
a. A second Major or,
b. one or more Minors or,
c. General elective subjects
5. Students must ensure any Minor study is not in the same discipline as any Major.
6. Students must not complete more than 72 credit points of 100-level subjects.
7. Students must complete a minimum of four 300-level Business subjects including the Capstone.
8. Students can cross-count only one subject across core, major, or minor within the degree.
NOTE: All majors and minors are offered at Wollongong campus, however a limited selection of majors and minors are available at other campuses and for online study. Refer to the Major Study and Minor Study lists below for availability of majors at other campuses and online study mode.

Subjects with substantial WIL

Students will engage in foundational and embedded WIL opportunities (UOW WIL framework) (e.g., ACCY228). WIL activities within each major are being reviewed as part of our ongoing Course Development. The capstone subject BUS 331 includes a workplace simulation exercise and Case Study Analysis Report and Presentation (UOW WIL Embedded).
