Foundational WIL, such as authentic case studies and policy examples, are used in all subjects to expose students to real world applications for their developing Fisheries Policy knowledge, to make content contemporary, relevant and purposeful. Embedded WIL is offered in selected subjects (e.g. SEA 915 “Fisheries Management”) and offers students the opportunity to undertake simulated workplace activities such as preparing a fishery management strategy and policy brief on an authentically relevant fishery issue. Applied WIL opportunities are available via core and elective subjects including SEA 925 “Australian Fisheries Law and Policy” where historically significant fishery legal cases are considered by students working together.
