Overview

The Master of Information Technology is aimed to develop an in-depth study of the organisational, economic, regulatory and socio-technical issues that arise in the implementation and application of IT, and how to effectively manage these issues.

Course structure

To qualify for award of the degree of Master of Information Technology, complete 96 credit points and satisfy all course requirements for the degree outlined in the course structure below:
a) 48 credit points of core subjects
b) Students completing a specialisation can choose one of the following options:

i) Students who choose to do one specialisation are required to complete:
- 18 credit points towards the specialisation, as outlined below; and
- 30 credit points from the MIT Graduate Subjects List and/or Advanced MIT Graduate Subjects List.
ii) Students who choose to do a double specialisation are required to complete:
- 18 credit points towards the first specialisation, as outlined below; and
- 18 credit points towards the second specialisation, as outlined below; and
- 12 credit points from the MIT Graduate Subjects List and/or Advanced MIT Graduate Subjects List.

c) Students who choose no specialisation are required to complete:
- 6 credit points from the Advanced MIT Graduate Subjects List; and
- 42 credit points from the MIT Graduate Subjects List and/or Advanced MIT Graduate Subjects List.
d) No more than 24 credit points from 800 level subjects.
