Subject description

CAVA225 is an introduction to the lighting studio exploring strobe and tungsten lighting techniques in studio portraiture, still life and tableau. Students will produce a body of work for assessment by exhibition in the TAEM building. The subject will foster a critical engagement with contemporary issues and art practices within an art historical context. Students will be introduced to programme material via in-studio lectures and structured class exercises that will provide the required technical, formal and conceptual skills to undertake a self-directed project.
