Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

Critically analyse the fundamental elements of Australia’s legal system and evaluate its impact on contemporary society;
2.
Determine and develop knowledge in relation to Australia’s key legal institutions;
3.
Evaluate and critically analyse aspects of the relationship between law and society;
4.
Identify and develop theoretical and practical knowledge in relation to the adversarial system of justice and critically assess its strengths and weaknesses;
5.
Identify and develop theoretical and practical knowledge in relation to the principles of the doctrine of precedent and develop skills in articulating how cases create law; and
6.
Critically engage with and reflect on the values, attitudes and beliefs that underlie their understanding of law and its practice.
