Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

Describe and explain the legal principles that regulate the terms, performance, breach, and termination of a contract, and that govern the legal and equitable remedies available for breach of contract;
2.
Describe and explain the legal principles and statutory provisions that determine when a party to a contract may be excused from its contractual obligations;
3.
Apply those legal principles and statutory provisions to provide a reasoned analysis of real or hypothetical problems;
4.
Evaluate the operation of the law of contract within its social and economic context;
5.
Apply the legal skills of case analysis through application of the common law method and the doctrine of precedent.
