Social work is a broad profession covering micro practice with individuals and families and macro practice comprising social policy, program planning and community work. This subject is intended to provide a broad overview of the field of social work practice, a basic understandings of theory and the place of knowledge, skills, values enabling insights into future student and professional experiences. In this subject students will draw on their literature, research evidence and field experience to explore the complexity of professional identity, social work theories and values and the capabilities enabling them to recognize and respond effectively to the experiences and needs of others
