An Honours thesis normally requires the development and writing of a research thesis under the supervision and guidance of academics at the University of Wollongong. A research topic is selected with the assistance of academics in the area of study that comprises your Major. The objective of the thesis is to enhance research skills, experience the development and structuring of an extended argument, and to communicate the research results to a wider audience. The objective, length and mode of presentation of a thesis varies according to disciplinary conventions and other variables. Normally in the Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, a thesis is 15000 words. The Honours thesis is marked by two examiners.
