Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
Explain the scope of and demonstrate an appreciation of the areas of law affecting the creation of content by media industries and individuals;
2.
Identify situations where legal difficulties can arise in the creation of content, and offer measures to prevent disputes arising;
3.
Solve legal problems using these areas of law;
4.
Appreciate the relationship between theoretical concerns about freedom of expression and the application of the law in relation to the creation of content; and
5.
Identify the scope of the regulatory arrangement affecting media industries, including the challenges created by technological change.
