Handbook

This is a core subject which addresses the need for all early childhood educators to be aware of the importance of early intervention when working with children and families with complex and multiple needs. The subject will adopt a strong equity promoting position and prepare students to advocate for all children and their families. Throughout this subject, students will develop an understanding of the philosophy and principles of early intervention for young children and their families. They will be provided with experiences to equip them to identify children with additional needs in early childhood education and care settings. Understanding approaches to communication and ways to support children’s positive behaviours will be explored.
