Subject description
This subject will explore evaluation as a field of practice and introduce students to recently developed Indigenous evaluation guidelines and frameworks. Students will also learn the philosophy and foundation of CQI in the context of Indigenous health and will critically apply this knowledge to case studies.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

Describe the key principles and frameworks for the evaluation of programs, policies or services aimed at improving Indigenous health and wellbeing
2.
Critically review different types of evaluation and their purposes.
3.
Apply Indigenous research ethical principles protocols to the evaluation and quality improvement programs, policies or services.
4.
Exhibit skills in evaluation planning, stakeholder engagement, developing an evaluation framework and utilising appropriate methods of data collection and analysis.
5.
Identify and analyse the key policies, programs, standards and frameworks relevant to quality improvement in the community and primary health contexts.
6.
Articulate what is needed for equitable and culturally respectful and culturally-safe service delivery in an Indigenous context.
7.
Compose a report and disseminate findings of an evaluation or quality improvement project.
