Subject description
This subject provides an introduction to mathematical techniques useful in business and economics. The main topics include marginal values, average values, elasticities, constrained and unconstrained optimisation, matrix algebra and the mathematics of finance. The mathematical techniques will be systematically presented and clearly illustrated in representative business and economic models.
