This is an Honours year subject of the BIT or BBIS degree, only available to students enrolled for these honours degrees. It is a research project conducted under the supervision of academic staff in the school.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
Critically analyse the body of literature concerning a specific ICT question or problem.
2.
Devise a research method or methods to resolve that question or problem.
3.
Apply the devised method in a rigorous manner, recording results.
4.
Analyse those results and thereby resolve the question or problem.
5.
Present the various stages of this process in a scholarly fashion, which will include a formal thesis and may include a seminar, a poster or both.
