On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
Identify and apply a range of contemporary theoretical paradigms to evaluate research, personal assumptions and popular media messages about children, families and pedagogy.
2.
Clearly articulate historical and contemporary theoretical applications for pedagogy, leadership and practice.
3.
Demonstrate and apply knowledge about the contribution of Indigenous and multicultural perspectives to support advocacy for social justice and anti-bias early childhood education approaches.
4.
Demonstrate personal and professional approaches to teaching and caring for young children by drawing upon knowledge of the theories of learning and development acquired in this and other subjects.
5.
Utilise theoretical paradigms and understandings about contemporary practice to plan for quality improvement and pedagogical leadership in early childhood education and care settings.
