Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

Critically analyse recent developments in primary healthcare including major risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs)
2.
Investigate and critique the role of the nurse in the context of engagement, empowerment and motivational components of health promotion
3.
Evaluate the influences of culture and diversity on individual, family and community health through the provision of health services
4.
Communicate perspectives of health promotion to a variety of audiences.
5.
Create a health promotion video with strategies targeted to an at-risk group
