On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

Develop fundamental knowledge of material science and cell biology for the development of medical implants and artificial organs.

Develop fundamental background on the control of biomaterials-tissue interactions

Establish fundamental knowledge of tissue engineering for the development and analysis of bio-replaceable implants.

Appropriately select biomaterials for specific biomedical applications.
