Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
Explain the principles of Base-band signalling, including pulse modulation techniques and line coding.
2.
Explain the principles behind Band-pass signalling including analogue modulation techniques and multiplexing techniques.
3.
Explain the principles behind digital modulation techniques.
4.
Explain the principles behind the transmission of signals through band-limited channels.
5.
Apply appropriate theory to solve practical problems in communication system design.
6.
Demonstrate appropriate laboratory skills.
