Handbook

The aim of this subject is to provide supervised practical professional experience in working with individuals with disability and their families in community-based programs. Students will complete a minimum of 20 days of work experience. During their work experience, students will observe, utilise and receive feedback in competencies expected of Developmental Educators. Specifically students will work with on-site supervisors to plan and utilise assessment, evidence-based practice and consultation and collaboration to support children or adults with disability. This subject meets the requirements for professional experience for those wanting to register with DEAI and work as developmental educators in programs supporting individuals with disability throughout the lifespan.
