Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
Describe the concepts and processes of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and a wide range of BIM applications used in the architecture, engineering and construction industry.
2.
Create and represent an architectural project through a BIM software and confidently use BIM for design, documentation and visualization of buildings.
3.
Extract building information and quantities from a BIM 3D model for wide range of relevant software and understand the limitation and specific requirements of different software.
4.
Use BIM simulation and analysis tools to validate their design decisions and anticipate the performance of the design.
5.
Implement parametric design within a BIM environment.
