This subject introduces students to sustainability concepts and critiques, while developing practical skills to prepare students for careers driving positive change within organisations and communities. Urgent issues such as climate change, depletion of natural resources, disasters, sustainable energy transitions, and decarbonisation have wide ranging consequences for social and environmental justice. Responding to these challenges effectively and ethically requires critical and holistic thinking, while drawing upon evidence and respectful engagement with diverse cultural and philosophical perspectives (including Indigenous knowledges). In GEOG122, students will learn how to tailor solutions based on critical analysis of complex problems and become more effective sustainability change-makers in their respective careers
