Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
describe the main literary, artistic and cultural movements in Italy, France and Spain of the period;
2.
identify the linguistic developments of the period and the context in which many works (written or otherwise) were created;
3.
recognise the political and economic climate that characterised the era and the possible connections between the works studied in this subject with those in other places or/and periods;
4.
synthesise and evaluate different critical approaches to the texts studied;
5.
demonstrate an ability to express clearly in written form arguments on the issues raised by the subject.
