Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
Extract and analyse the information from speeches, public lectures, interviews in Mandarin Chinse for general and educational purposes.
2.
Use appropriate register, voice level and intonation to participate and in discussions, debates and interviews.
3.
Find and use appropriate references materials to give presentation in relation to Chinese cultural heritage and Chinese history.
4.
Search and use the reference materials to write evaluative essay of more than 800 characters for selected topics.
5.
Demonstrate an insight into the values and attitudes of people from the Chinese culture and reflect on and compare cultural values
6.
Understand the diversities of Chinese language and Chinese culture.
7.
Further understand the Chinese studies in western knowledge system and develop the ability of independent and critical thinking.
