Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
Plan a research project in mathematics/statistics on a particular issue/problem/question and write a proposal;
2.
Demonstrate an expert understanding of information literacy and specific skills in acquiring, organising and presenting information;
3.
Demonstrate written skills through the production of a literature review including relevant books, journals and bibliography;
4.
Demonstrate an ability to write complex mathematical statements in LaTeX, to be able to use LaTeX to construct basic documents.
5.
Demonstrate well-developed communication skills through the design and delivery of presentations aimed at a knowledgeable, but non-specialist, audience.
6.
Engage in critically reflective practice
