Handbook

This subject will enable students with an appreciation of the principles underlying the selection of materials and processing methods for the design of mechanical components. Students will get understanding of the major hardening mechanisms in metallic materials and the effect of the application conditions on the mechanical behaviour and longevity of the mechanical components. Students will gain further knowledge and skills on analysis of property - processing requirements for given applications with a comprehensive consideration of cost, recycling and sustainable development requirements.
