Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
Explore and articulate the role, function and practices of a community organisation and its impacts with and on its local community/communities.
2.
Apply relevant theories that inform community practice to critically analyse the practices of a community organisation
3.
Investigate and critique anti-oppressive, inclusive, strength based and empowering community work practice.
4.
Research and design a community development project that will assist a community to bring about social change in economic, social, cultural and/or environmental conditions.
5.
Critically reflect on how theories of community practice have influenced students perception of social work practice
