On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
Define key concepts in social and structural inequalities and inequities and their relationships to individual and societal health
2.
Identify and describe common theoretical frameworks that explain determinants of inequalities
3.
Analyse common social systems aimed at reducing or eliminating inequities in populations using evidence and examples
4.
Critique the impacts of social norms on access to social services in a range of Australian Indigenous, national and global settings
5.
Identify factors influencing the occurrence of interpersonal violence, gender discrimination, poverty and racism, and how they contribute to ongoing inequities
