This is an extended course of supervised research on an approved topic in the field of ocean law and policy. The research topic is selected upon consultation by a research paper of 20,000 words.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
Conduct an independent research project on an approved topic in the field of ocean law and policy
2.
In consultation with a supervisor, design research questions, conduct appropriate research and evaluate sources in order to develop the research project
3.
Develop and construct appropriate and detailed written arguments in relation to the research question
4.
Demonstrate research and writing skills by using relevant information, clearly articulating ideas, and synthesising complex theories and concepts to address key issues in the field of ocean law and policy
