On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

Identify the centrality of values and ethics and how the AASW Code of Ethics may be applied in social work practice;
2.
Demonstrate emerging critical understanding of social work theory and research;
3.
Recognise the power and authority social workers have when exercising professional judgement and the need for practice to reflect service users needs strengths, goals and preferences;
4.
Articulate the importance of identity in professional social work practice;
5.
Reflect on development as a professional and the intersection of personal experience and learning needs in relation to gender, sexuality, race, culture, multiculturalism, Indigenous justice and poverty
