Handbook

This subject provides students with an introduction to the Australian welfare state and the contemporary human services system. Contemporary debates on the nature of the welfare state will be explored, in particular, the neo-liberal challenge and the restructuring as a result of increasing diversity, technological disruption and globalisation. It also introduces students to the role of social workers in human services organisations, and service delivery and management will be explored. Students will develop beginning skills in organisational analysis.
